Oscar-Winner ‘Whiplash’ to Screen with Orchestra Led by Composer Justin Hurwitz

The Academy Award-winning film Whiplash will come to life on Feb. 7 and 8 with an accompaniment by a live 18-piece jazz big band ensemble conducted by the film’s Oscar-winning composer, Justin Hurwitz.

Audiences will be immersed in director Damien Chazelle’s critically acclaimed film as Hurwitz’s energetic and gripping score is performed live. Whiplash earned three Oscars, including Best Sound Mixing, Best Film Editing, and Best Supporting Actor for J.K. Simmons.  

Event Highlights:

        ●  Live performance of Whiplash’s score by an 18-piece jazz big band, conducted by composer Justin Hurwitz.

        ●  Screening of the original Academy Award-winning film  

        ●  The event will be hosted Feb. 7 and 8 at the historic Saban Theatre, a 1930s architectural gem in the heart of Beverly Hills.

        ●  Access to a full bar with specialty cocktails, and some of LA’s most beloved food trucks.

        ●  A portion of the event proceeds will benefit MusiCares LA wildfire disaster relief fund.
