‘Smithereens’ Is First Dan Reeder Album In Four Years

Dan Reeder, Oh Boy Records’ longest-signed artist besides John Prine, has released his first full-length album in four years, Smithereens, which is now available everywhere. It follows Reeder’s recent sold-out run of shows, his first U.S. shows in 15 years. Smithereens features 27 songs showcasing Reeder’s cheeky lyrics and signature wit. Garden and Gun premiered “Hunt A Little,” featuring his sonorous voice and an accompanying video made by Reeder himself.

“Smithereens was made for vinyl, which means it’s meant to be listened to one side at a time. At least that’s how it works best,” says Reeder. “Some of the songs have been out digitally for a while now. Others are ‘new’. I think it’s a nice record to listen to. Lots of variety. Up. Down. Fast. Slow. Sideways. And because it’s vinyl, I think people will listen to it as it was meant to be listened to.”

He added, “Thanks to everybody who came to see us on our little tour. You made it an unforgettable experience for us. And I guess Peggy is now officially a rock star.”
