Great Midwest, Southwest, Southeast, Northwest Book Festivals Results

The results for the 2025 best of the late winter/early spring book competitions are in. Placements have been posted for the Great Southwest, Great Midwest, Great Southeast and Great Northwest book festivals, honoring a non-fiction book, a memoir, a novel and an historical examination.

The winners:

**** Great Northwest Book Festival: Author Tammy Dietz’s Falling From Disgrace (Cynren Press) explores growing up as a Mormon in the San Francisco Bay Area.

**** Great Southwest Book Festival: Wandering in American Deserts by editors Linda Watanabe King, Joanna Biggar, Laurie McAndish King (Wanderland Writers) looks at the desert spaces of Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, and California.

**** Great Southeast Book Festival: Author Norman Jetmundsen’s Unrivaled: Sewanee 1899 (Shakerag Hollow Press) tells of one of the greatest seasons in college football history.

**** Great Midwest Book Festival: Author Nicole Conn’s Descending Thirds (Story Merchant Books) is the story of Alexandra von Triessen, a shy yet gifted pianist who faces the pressure of cutthroat competition and her own insecurities at the prestigious International Ketterling Piano Competition.
