The 2024 New York Book Festival grand prize winner is being transformed into a film. Maria C. Palmer, the co-author of “On The Rocks,” reports that her filming of the story of a Pittsburgh restaurant run by her father is underway.
Primadonna’s was owned and operated by restaurateur Joseph Costanzo Jr. from 1986 to 2002. In that 17-year run under Costanzo Jr.’s management, it was repeatedly voted the best Italian restaurant in Pittsburgh
Picked up by director Ryan Rust’s production company, Venture Road Pictures, the book blends interviews with reenactments.
