‘The Last of Us’ Receives a Companion Podcast for HBO Max Adaptation

‘The Last of Us’ fans will have even more content to look forward to as HBO Max announces they will be launching a companion podcast alongside their adaptation of the popular video game series. The podcast will air in tandem with the show which debuts on Sunday, January 15.

During ‘The Last of Us’ podcast, host Troy Baker talks with series creators Craig Mazin (creator of ‘Chernobyl’) and Neil Druckman (writer/director of ‘The Last of Us’ video game franchise) as they take fans scene-by-scene of each episode. Fans of both the series and game will enjoy this weekly discussion, where they will have the opportunity to be flies on the wall as the group discuss their personal relationships to the game, their experience in adapting it for television, and behind-the-scenes stories.

‘The Last of Us’ is set in the future, twenty years after modern civilization has been destroyed. In the action-adventure series, Joel (Pedro Pascal), a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie (Bella Ramsey), a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. The story shows how this small job soon becomes a brutal and heartbreaking journey across the United States as they depend on each other for survival.
